Chimney caps have many functions and many options. Take a moment to read this section if you need help making a selection. First, determine what type of chimney flue you have. The flue is the open part of the chimney that may extend above, or be flush with the chimney crown (the flat part at the top of the chimney). Next, see if you have one or more flue's sticking out of the chimney. Finally, determine the size of the flue/flue's to determine what size cap you need. Don't just guess, this may result in an exchange for a different size, and cost extra money in shipping charges.
