We offer a complete line of steel, aluminum, stainless steel, pipe and cable rail systems for exterior use. We also offer steel balconies and railings; porch, stair, deck and patio rails; straight line, horizontal line, or rails on a radius.
History

George B. Hart founded Alameda Ornamental Iron Inc. in 1949, as a one-man shop, working out of his garage. As the business started to grow, Robert E. Lyons came to manage the five-man shop. In 1970, Walter G. Schill graduated from Regis College with a degree in business and came to work for Alameda Ornamental Iron as an installer. In 1972, the business was incorporated and Walter became a shareholder. When George died two years later, Walter bought the business from George's heirs. The business continued to grow under Walter's guidance and a second location, 425 S. Pecos, was added for the paint booth facilities. It has been expanded to hold the installation fleet, manufacturing and paint facilities.

In 1978, Ann Schill, Walter's wife, came to manage the office and brought the daily business operations into the computer age. In 1980, Walter and Ann bought the building and moved the business into 1383 W. Alameda, where it is located today. It currently houses the showroom, some manufacturing and the corporate offices. When Walter passed away in June 2004, Ann took over the business with her daughter Susan and son-in law Gene. Alameda Ornamental Iron has truly become a family run business.

During the economic boom of the 1990's, Alameda Ornamental Iron Inc. led the way as an established industry leader and NOMMA member. We developed new techniques and methodologies for high-end production, particularly for brass cap railings and compound curve handrails. We have grown from a one-man shop to a 35-person operation - designing, fabricating and installing custom architectural and ornamental metals throughout Denver and the Front Range.
